Skincare in summers can get tricky with all the excess oil and the constant sweating. There are also high chances of tanning and sunburn. While makeup also gets very confusing, there’s one sure-shot way of ensuring that our makeup stays right on. And you might wonder what is that? The answer is actually quite simple. It’s having a balanced skincare routine for summers that essentially address all the problems that come with summer.

Here’s a guide to mitigating the effects of unbearable heat and the scorching sun.

Drink plenty of water- This is one of the most important basics of skincare in summers. While you may spend huge sums of money on expensive serums or facial masks, the simplest of all is to drink as much water as you can. It helps in flushing out all the toxins from your body while keeping your skin radiant and soft.

Use a multi-purpose moisturizer- Applying moisturizer and sunscreen separately during summers, can be a bit too much for the skin. However, what you can do is use a lightweight moisturizer with a required SPF of 30 or more which will not only keep your skin protected but also keep your skin moisturized without any damage.

Cleanse twice a day- Sweat and oily skin are the two things that you cannot absolutely escape in summers. While heat produces excess oil from the skin, sweat only makes it worse, resulting in acne. To avoid these adverse effects, what you can ideally do is – foam-wash your face twice a day to help your skin breathe and will keep it moisturized.

Frequent exfoliation- Summer also brings along dryness and dullness. That is exactly why exfoliation becomes extremely necessary. You can ideally opt for a good face scrub or home remedies. This will help you not only to remove all dry and dead cells from your pores but will also rejuvenate your skin and keep it healthier. However, do not go overboard with it, it brings redness and itching.

Use a toner to revitalize your skin- What a toner essentially does is close all the open pores in your skin. Summers mean a lot of oil that gets accumulated in these open pores, resulting in acne. This can be avoided with refreshing toners like the ones infused with Aloe vera or cucumber.

With the onset of summer, changing your skincare routine is a must. With these simple steps, you can make the transition super swift.
