With this #COVID19 pandemic adversely impacting the whole world at large, it is also bringing a shift in the perspective and in more ideally setting it straight. While for most of our lives what we considered essentials is now coming out to be “non-essential” and “not that important” the same is the case when it comes to beauty.
Primarily we considered moisturizers, oils, mascaras, and lip colors as “essentials.” But with this outbreak, we are forced to reevaluate what are actually the “essentials” in beauty. So essentially now, the new definitions of beauty essentials are:
Health – In this crisis situation, we realized that not someone who has supreme makeup products is the utmost healthy but someone who took good care of their skin and hair, maintained a great care routine even in the hectic days are finely healthier than the other. Hence the first essential to beauty is health.
Sustainability – With everything this world has to offer from the technologies to highly advanced services, all of it has come down to zero for nothing can get us out of this pandemic. Plus the waste that these products generate, is doing nothing more than harming our mother Earth, whose vast repercussions we are facing now more than ever. Hence slowing down and simplifying the way we live our lives is the second essential to beauty.
Here are some tips
1)Lemon and Sugar Face Scrub
Whisk together olive oil, honey, and lemon juice in a small bowl, until combined. Stir in sugar until fully combined. Gently rub into facial skin in circular motions, for about one minute. Rinse off skin with warm water.
2) Mix cornstarch, turmeric and honey to make a smooth paste, For dry skin, add oil to the mixture. For oily skin, add lemon juice and yogurt to create a creamy mixture. Apply the mask to your face and neck.Leave it for 15-20 minutes. Use a warm wet cloth to remove the mask.
For Hair :
1) Banana Hair Mask. Mix 1 Tbsp Honey with 2 mashed banana, 1 Tbsp Olive Oil and 1 Tbsp Coconut Oil.
2) Milk and Egg Hair Mask. Mix 1 lemon juice with 1 egg, 1 cup milk and 2 Tbsp Olive Oil.
Nature – While all this while we turned to face masks and treatments to rejuvenate our skin and hair, this quarantine forced us to take up traditional modes to maintain a healthy skin and healthcare routine. And during this time we have come to realize that nothing seems soothing enough than a raw honey mask or a natural aloe vera hair pack, Right? Therefore, the third essential to beauty is in nature and everything it has to offer.
It took a global hazard to make us realize what beauty essentials are and to gain this perspective of beauty. Let’s hold on to it even after all of this ends!
